The Cyber-shot DSCW230 is a high performing camera with user-friendly functionality. A large 3.0” LCD screen and a wide range of convenient features are within these stylish cameras, making great photography easy.

 

Optical SteadyShot is an Optical Image Stabiliser that automatically steadies shaky hands and vibrations to produce sharp digital images.

 

Intelligent Scene Recognition mode automatically detects five different types of scenes and selects the appropriate camera settings to achieve optimal results: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait and Twilight using a tripod.

 

Smile Shutter which automatically detects and captures smiling faces, can now be used in tandem with Intelligent Scene Recognition. This means smiling portraits will look better than ever because Intelligent Scene recognition automatically determines the optimal settings for difficult shooting conditions. As before, Smile Shutter also lets users select the degree of Smile Detection sensitivity as well as the adult or child priority setting to automatically shoot when a child or adult smiles.

 

BIONZ is Sony’s high performance imaging processor which enables the W230 to deliver high quality photos and fast image processing.

 

Dynamic Range Optimiser is further improved to automatically optimise exposure and contrast for each scene. This is especially useful for preventing underexposure of the subject when shooting backlit portraits, and for any scenes exhibiting strong lighting contrast between background and foreground.

 

In camera red-eye correction provides another tool for ensuring the red eye effect doesn’t ruin your photos. By simply using the retouch function, red eyes can be fixed with the push of a button.
