The LX3 features a large, 1/1.63", 10.1 Mega-pixel, ultra high sensitivity CCD.

This newly developed CCD helps capture beautiful images with outstanding dynamic range and minimal noise. By optimising the use of space within individual photo cells to allow larger photodiodes this CCD has exceptional sensitivity & saturation performance. The LX3 faithfully reproduces colours even in high contrast or low-lit situations.

High Quality Optics

Equiped with a large aperture F2.0, 24mm MEGA Wide Angle LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON Lens, the LX3 features 8 lens elements in 6 groups including 4 aspherical lenses. This LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens offers a large aperture F2.0 at 24mm MEGA Wide Angle that is helpful when shooting at higher shutter speeds in low-lit situations or for giving backgrounds a gentle soft focus.

Providing a focal length of 24mm - 60mm (35mm equiv), the LX3 is a handy partner for shooting expansive wide angle to telephoto shots. The crystal clear rendering & rich gradation of the lens also reproduces extremely fine details.

Large, 3.0" Intelligent LCD with 460k Dot Resolution.

The high-resoltuion 460k dot, 3.0" Intelligent LCDhas a wide viewing angle and varies the brightness according to ambient light conditions. This assists smooth shooting even in high & low-angle shooting positions. The aspect ratio of this LCD screen is 3:2, familiar to those used to shooting with DSLR.

 

24mm MEGA Wide Angle Lens with Multiple Aspect Ratios

A switch on hte top of the lens barrel lets you choose the aspect ratio -normal 4:3, wide 16:9, or the 3:2 used in film cameras. The 16:9/3:2 images are obtained using the 24mm MEGA Wide-Angle lens and large CCD, instead of cropping a 4:3 image.

Selectable Focusing Areas

IN 1-area AF (normal/high-speed) or Spot AF mode, you can set the AF area to any location within the frame. Various group area patterns can also be selected in multi-point AF mode. When using manual focus, you can enlarge a part of the image to assist in focusing.

Film Mode For Creative Versatility

Much like changing the film type on a film camera, you can enjoy a wide range of expression based on six colour modes and three monchromatic modes. When the multi-film mode is selected, you can record pictures having up to three different effects with each press of the shutter button.

High Definition Motion Recording

TheLX3 can record motion pictures with sensational 1280 x 720p HD resolution at 30 frames per second. You can use the zoom too and capture some truly dramatic shots. When you're done shooting for the day, just connect* the camera to an HDTV and you're ready to view your still shots and motion pictures in highdefinition beauty.
