BACKLIT CMOS
Forming a part of his image technologies, BSI CMOS is a specific type of sensor that is designed to produce a higher dynamic range with particularly high sensitivity and better noise performance, especially in low light. The sensor is also back-illuminated increasing the amount of light it captures still further and thereby optimising its low-light performance.
PHOTO WITH MOVIE CLIP
This multi-tasking function allows you shoot video and stills of the same subject or scene, by automatically recording movies either straight before or straight after you take a still shot.
SMART PANORAMA
Allows the user to create an impressive super wide-angle wrap-around photo simply by panning the camera horizontally or vertically. Theres no need to pay attention to points of intersection the camera knits the separate stills together automatically.
FLASHAIR COMPATIBILITY
Using both a FlashAir in a compatible camera, and the OI.Share application on your smartphone, your stills and movies can now be quickly and easily transferred to your mobile device wirelessly, stills can be edited directly in the app with the addition of Art Filters and shared with friends and family through your social networks. Your FlashAir settings can be controlled from the dedicated menu incorporated in your camera, making smartphone linkage easy even without using a PC.
EYE-FI COMPATIBILITY
An Eye-Fi card enables you to automatically upload images using WiFi. Being compatible with your camera, you can activate and deactivate this card as you wish directly in your setting menu. Whenever the need or moment arises, you can then share photos and movies on your camera directly with other devices. You can transfer them to your mobile device and then share them with friends and family through your social networks.

Unlike normal digital zooms, which trade off image resolution and sharpness against zooming power, Olympus’ Super-Resolution Zoom digitally extends the range of the optical zoom. For example, it can boost a 12.5x Optical Zoom to 25x without any noticeable loss of image quality.
3 DISPLAY
Olympus 3 Displays are the first choice for easy framing, reviewing and sharing of photos and movies. The imaging power of these monitors is characterised by vivid colour reproduction and high levels of contrast with improved resolution up to 1.030k dots and great new technologies like OLED for even further improved viewing and framing possibilities.
FACE DETECTION TECHNOLOGY
A technology that searches for faces in a composition and recognizes them as the main subject. It then automatically puts them in focus and optimally adjusts exposure to create an image that’s sharp in the right places and ideally exposed. Available for photos and videos, Advanced Face Detection Technology can detect up to 8 faces.
AF TRACKING
This system tracks a moving subject automatically and keeps it continuously in focus for optimally exposed pictures. It even memorizes the subject when it goes out of frame and resumes tracking when it reappears.
SHADOW ADJUSTMENT
Take beautiful photos of people in high-contrast situations that would normally be difficult to capture. Harnessing the power of the TruePic processor, Advanced Shadow Adjustment Technology automatically adjusts the brightness and gradation, reducing picture noise in dark areas to create a natural-looking photo.
BEAUTY MAKE-UP MODE
Apply different facial effects to the peoples faces in your photos, almost instantly, before even taking their picture. Choose from 18 different effects including eyeliner, lipstick, eye brightening, cheek lift and soft focus. Up to three different faces, for each photo, can have facial effects.
DUAL IMAGE STABILISATION
Providing two-fold protection, this special function helps to avoid image blur caused by camera shake. It combines high ISO values with a sensor- or lens based mechanical image stabiliser, where a built-in sensor detects camera movement and adjusts the image sensor or lens accordingly.
FAST AF
FAST AF (Frequency Acceleration Sensor Technology Autofocus) is a super-fast autofocus system and a breakthrough in autofocus technology. FAST AF is fed by a new sensor that supplies the necessary video signals at double the read-out speed (120fps) of previous sensors. The electrifying performance of FAST AF is enhanced by Full Time AF that ensures the camera constantly adjusts the focus, even before a photo or movie is taken. Not only does FAST AF guarantee lightning quick focussing, it also speeds up the AF system boot response following shutter release.
HDR BACKLIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Instead of recording just one shot, your camera takes multiple images very quickly at different exposure settings. Then it automatically merges them. The result is a collage of photos blended seamlessly together into one perfectly exposed combined final shot. Capture your scene just as you see it, no matter if you’re shooting against the light.
HYPER CRYSTAL
A special layer on the LCD that reflects light from external sources, thus reducing reflection even in direct sunlight – for outstanding visibility in a variety of shooting situations. MULTI-MOTION MOVIE IS
