A super bright Leica lens allows your images to be extraordinary
The newly developed Leica DC Vario-Summilux lens features F1.4-F2.3 brightness with a 24-90mm versatile zoom range (35mm camera equivalent).This is around four times as bright as an F2.8 lens, and the extraordinarily rich amount of light allows for the use of a higher shutter speed to capture stunningly sharp, blur-free images in low-light situations; and gives impressive expression to images with beautiful gradation and artistic defocus.
Ultra wide-angle lens with Nano Surfacing Coating technology
The 24mm ultra wide-angle lens gives you a wider range of composition possibilities, and also minimises distortion, so you can achieve stunning, true-to-life images with outstanding resolution and detail. Our black box technology Nano Surface Coating boasts an extremely low reflectance ratio and it is applied to DMC-LX7 for exceptional optical performance with stunning clarity by minimising flaring and ghosts.
Stunning images without the blur caused by handshake
The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) suppresses the low-frequency vibration hand-shake component, which is physically generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed.
Full-HD video recording in AVCHD progressive format and MP4
For exceptional image quality, the DMC-LX7 can record high-resolution Full-HD 1920 x 1080 50p video in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 /H.264) format, compatible with AV equipment such as HDTVs or Blu-ray Disc players or recorders. Alternatively, you can choose MP4 at 25p for high compatibility with PCs. The 3.8x optical zoom with step zoom function, POWER O.I.S. and iA+ (Intelligent Auto Plus) features are available in video recording. High quality sound can be recorded with Dolby Digital Stereo Creator.
Enjoy more creative control in any shooting condition
The DMC-LX7 has a new aperture ring, internal ND filter and focus lever. The ND filter allows you to open the aperture for visible defocus in sunny outdoor conditions, or when using a slower shutter speed to capture the flow of water. The focus lever activates the variable AF area. During MF operation, it changes to a handy one-shot AF to provide initial focusing and during playback, this function gives you one-touch zoom playback of subjects in focus.
