Unlike software based encryption, the hardware encryption can never be disabled or turned off either accidentally, on purpose or by malware. This "always on" encryption guarantees 100% of your data is protected 100% of the time. The flashIT Secure drive stores its encryption keys in its own hardware and not on the host PC's hard disk or RAM, safeguarding against brute force password guessing. After five unsuccessful login attempts the drive will lock down, reformat and all data will be irrecoverably erased.
